My name is Andrew Hoch. I started tattooing in 2018, but have always been interested in art ever since I can remember. I was blessed with an immense and unique imagination and a desire to create. I also have an inquisitive and intellectual side that brought me towards science. In school I was always torn between the two and ended up with a bachelor's in biology with a minor in art. I've had an interest in scientific/medical illustration as well, but ended up finding myself enjoying the fast-paced and one-on-one process of tattooing clients. Tattooing, in actuality, is a form of microsurgery, and that act of working on the skin essentially combines surgical precision with art, and it's a fascinating thing.

As far as the type of art I, personally, like to do it definitely varies with my mood; much like my music tastes. Some styles take a different eye, slight of hand, and strategy that others don't, and that's interesting and challenging in a good way. I really enjoy colorful, bold tattoos that you can see from across the street and reads well. So new school and traditional are high on my list of favorites.

I'm not a huge "word" guy. I find tattoos symbolically have a higher value without a label being attached to it. Could you imagine if on the Sistine Chapel's "Creation of Adam" it said 'Adam' and 'God' underneath it? Get that portrait of Grandpa, but just leave it the portrait.

As far as myself as a human... I'm a pretty personable guy with a big personality and a heart to match. I enjoy learning new skills and hobbies as a way to enrich the path I've carved through life. What really matters in life is what we've learned, what we've experienced, and how hard we loved. All these adventures I've been on really allows me to have interesting conversations with my clients while I stab pictures into them. Humor is a big part of me as well; I love comedy and making people laugh.
